Office of the President President: Marcus Hale

Appointed as UC City’s second President in 2021, Marcus Hale brings a wealth of experience in bridging education, industry, and inclusive leadership. Born in Denver, Colorado, President Hale holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and an MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder, with a professional background spanning 25 years in higher education administration and corporate talent development.

Prior to joining UC City, he served as Vice President of Career Education at a leading national for-profit university, where he led the development of industry-aligned curricula and forged partnerships with 200+ enterprises. Earlier in his career, he was Director of Workforce Development at the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, where he designed initiatives to address skill gaps in high-growth sectors like clean energy and tech. He also taught business strategy at community colleges in California, gaining firsthand insight into the needs of diverse learners.

President Hale oversees UC City’s core missions of education, industry collaboration, and community service. He works closely with campus stakeholders, business partners, and regulatory bodies in Colorado and California to shape the institution’s strategic direction—with a focus on enhancing educational equity, expanding career outcomes for students, and strengthening cross-state industry ties. His leadership is guided by a commitment to ensuring UC City remains accessible, practical, and responsive to the evolving needs of learners and employers alike.
